NET METERING (self-generation) involves channeling locally produced energy from renewable energy sources (mainly photovoltaics) to the Network, while also absorbing consumed energy from the Network. Essentially, the Network serves as a storage mechanism for the energy produced, which is then consumed privately through a netting process at the end of a measurement period (usually one year).
NET METERING enables consumers to cover a portion or all of their own consumption, while also providing the opportunity to use the Network for indirect storage of the green energy they produce.
