It is a co-funded programme that provides incentives to citizens with a subsidy of up to 75% in order to improve the energy efficiency of their home, saving money and energy, thus increasing its value.

The selection of applications will be made following a comparative evaluation of the applications submitted. For the best possible chances of approval it is very important to prepare the study and the dossier correctly.

The single-family house or apartment building as a whole and the individual apartment that meets the following criteria:

✓ Used as a main residence, as shown in the income tax return (E1).

✓ It exists legally by carrying a building permit.

✓ Only (1) application per beneficiary's VAT number.

✓ It has been classified on the basis of the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) issued after 26/11/2017 in a category lower or equal to energy class "C" and has not been deemed demolishable.

For all types of application (individual apartments, single-family houses, multi-family houses), mandatory upgrade by at least three (3) energy categories, compared to the classification in the A' PEA, in order to ensure Primary Energy Savings of more than 30%.

For the legality of the residence the applicant should provide the relevant legal documents. Please note that the submission of the Electronic Building Identity / Disposable Property Identification will be required at a later stage (for eligible applications).

Maximum eligible budget for works (energy saving, smart systems and energy self-sufficiency):

  • 22.500€ per subsidized house or 220€/m² of the main house.
  • or the product of m² times the Kwh (kilowatt hours) savings times 1,10€

The private participation of the beneficiary can be covered either by own funds or by bank loans.

SUBSIDY RATES BY INCOME CATEGORY

The subsidy rate in the “ExoEconomy 2023” programme is up to 75% and is scaled according to the level of income.
The working budget is up to 22.500€ per application.

ELIGIBLE INTERVENTIONS

  • New insulating / heat-interrupting frames with double glazing (aluminium frames).
  • Aluminium frame including the glazing achieving maximum energy upgrade.
  • Frame covers are also participating in the program with a separate budget.

This category includes the installation of external thermal insulation, while internal thermal insulation is also installed when it is technically impossible or not allowed by the legislation in force. Insulation is also done on the roof of the property and in the attic.

The installation of a new heating-cooling system is done by using a renewable energy source or a high-efficiency combined heat and power system.

The installation/replacement concerns the entire electromechanical equipment of the boiler room and the distribution network. Includes the installation of a new or the replacement of a boiler and/or boiler system with a new gas system. Excludes costs for burner and oil tank and terminal performance units.

It concerns the installation/replacement of a solar water heater for hot water supply.
The installation of a solar system for the provision of DHW is mandatory for those dwellings where there is no such system installed.

With new inverter technology, energy class A+ and above (up to 3 air conditioners / house).

It concerns work and technologies that:

a) adjust and maintain energy consumption at user-selected levels to save energy,
b) collect, analyse and present energy consumption data,
c) adjust and maintain shading levels to achieve optimal energy savings.
